The objectives are defined by the problematic that unifies the activities of the group: using new technology tools in university teaching in a suitable pedagogical way. The main concern is the use of a virtual campus in a complex context, with many technological opportunities, and without knowledge of the real use, of all the forms, by teachers (in the implementation of blended teaching, and curricular changes). The other main point is the aim to try out new teaching methodologies and expand them in a broader context. The use of a digital portfolio takes on a higher relevance to evaluate the students. Without doubt the digital portfolio is destined to become one of the main evaluation tools in the EEES context.
The objectives of the Group are divided into three groups:
1. Systematize the acquired experience in the compared use of virtual learning environments and other content management systems in blended and hybrid contexts.
The objective includes an in depth analysis of some platforms, and specifically Moodle, through pedagogical criteria, focused on how platforms support the methodological requirements.
2. Analyse, in different university contexts, the reaction and positive and negative impact of teachers and students using Moodle and other environments of virtual learning. Achieve an evaluation model which could be useful for teachers who use virtual environments to evaluate the impact of their methodology.
3. Try out new teaching methodologies which make an intensive use of technological capacities. To achieve this , the Group will implement, in some second cycle subjects, three of the methodologies that are considered more relevant to be experimented: the digital portfolio as an evaluation system, the utilization of cases and problems/ projects as methods of organising collaborative learning, the learning focused on the student (production of multimedia tools, electronic and interactive books…) and hybrid learning.
