This digital portal presents the activities of the Research Group Education and Virtual Learning (in Spanish,  Grupo de Investigación Enseñanza y Aprendizage Virtual, GREAV) of the University of Barcelona, which has been working on the Plan de Investigación de Catalunya (Catalonia Research Plan), since 1994.

The Group carries out research on new emergent forms of teaching and learning in digital environments. There are two lines of research, which group together the various sub-projects. On the one hand, the study and redefinition of digital alphabetization and multiple phenomenon involved in e learning, including virtual environment design both for higher and secondary education. On the other hand, the development of cognitive tools specifically for virtual teaching and learning.

Links with other groups are included in this digital portal, with various members of GREAV taking part, as well as other professors and research groups such as the Teaching Innovation Group and the Observatory of Digital Education, both from the University of Barcelona.

News: Next publication of Digital Education Review (DER)

Digital Education Review (DER) is a journal designed as a space of dialogue and reflection about the impact of ICT in education and new emergent forms of teaching and learning in digital environments. ICT plays an important role in education, raising discussions and important new challenges. Analyze the impact of ICT and new forms of literacy and learning are the main interests of Digital Education Review. The journal focus is related to digital literacies and to virtual teaching and learning: virtual environment design, development of cognitive tools, educational materials, Internet, hypermedia  and evaluation of the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) when applied to education. The publication is open to all those investigators who wish to propose articles on this subject. We will accept investigation work of the theoretical and bibliographic, as well as the practical and experiential. Finally, this journal is the result of the intellectual work of Digital Education Observatory (OED) andt Virtual Teaching and Learning Research Group (GREAV) at University of Barcelona.
